Our Story

The Wild Swan has been part of the community in Minskip for nearly 200 years. Our country pub dates back to 1832 and you can still enjoy some great local ales under the age old beams in our traditional tap room, which features polished floorboards and a rustic country theme.

After a bit of an impromptu period of stopping and starting over the last couple of years, we’re so pleased to say that the Wild Swan is swinging open its doors to welcome you in for some proper Yorkshire hospitality.

There’s been a big change afoot at the Swan over the last two years, with a full restaurant renovation, brand new beer garden and plans to add accommodation. We’re very excited to show you what’s changed (and what hasn’t!) since we took over in late June 2021.

As relatively new owners of the Wild Swan, we believe that old traditions die hard. We’re two childhood pals passionate about our local area, the people and produce within it.

We grew up within half an hour of the pub, and when the opportunity arrived in early 2021 to get involved with the Wild Swan – we just couldn’t say no!

In recent years Yorkshire has become a destination for foodies and beverage enthusiasts alike. Well, at the Wild Swan we think that’s something worth shouting about, but don’t take our word for it. Get yourselves down, we can’t wait to meet you!
